Ghostly greetings from Northern Ballet! On this chilly Halloween we are enjoying everything spooky with our ghoulish production of A Christmas Carol currently touring the UK. In one magical night the three ghosts and Old Jacob Marley take miserable Ebenezer Scrooge on a spiritual journey but it is not just our production that has ghostly apparitions, some of our venues have reported strange encounters.
As our Autumn tour continues, we are bringing Christmas early this year with the return of A Christmas Carol to celebrate its 21st Anniversay. The first stop for Scrooge and the Christmas ghosts is Norwich. As this was my first ime in the Norwich I did some investigating into what life is like working in the theatre and I interviewed the lovely Amelia Goymer, Box Office Assistant at Norwich Theatre Royal.
As I continue the tour with the Company, I cornered Andy Waddington, Technical Director, for top facts about the technical side of the tour for A Midsummer Night's Dream.
Whilst joining the company on tour in Newcastle this week, I met the very friendly and helpful Kirsten Dixon, Stage Door Keeper at the Theatre Royal. Kirsten was kind enough to talk to me about her role and what it is like working in the theatre.
I have been set the mission to give you all a behind the scenes glimpse into life on tour with Northern Ballet and as our Autumn season now starts its tour of the UK, Newcastle was the first destination on the tour.
We are taking A Midsummer Night's Dream to Newcastle Theatre Royal from Tue 17 - Sat 21 Sep. I have never really been to Newcastle before so was looking forward to seeing a new city.
Northern Ballet offered two tickets to see A Midsummer Night’s Dream at the West Yorkshire Playhouse between Fri 6 – Sat 14 Sep to the lucky winner of our ‘I Spy Midsummer’ Twitter competition.
