Beauty & the Beast

Julie Anderson
For 25 years Julie ran a successful bridal shop while also working freelance on ballet, film, theatre and opera. For the past three years she has concentrated solely on her career in costume work with Northern Ballet and Northern School of Contemporary Dance.

The first review of Beauty & the Beast came from Laura Thompson of the Telegraph. She says, "It is really rather wonderful." And has given it four stars.
This resource pack is designed to give teachers an insight into Northern Ballet’s production of Beauty & the Beast, and to provide creative ideas and tasks that can be used in the classroom. It is particularly suitable for teachers working with pupils in dance and drama. It also provides some signposts for links with other areas of the curriculum.
Featuring excerpts from Beauty & the Beast filmed at its premiere run at Leeds Grand Theatre in December 2012. Danced by Northern Ballet dancers and with music played live by the Northern Ballet Sinfonia this brand new production will delight grown-ups and children of all ages.
Northern Ballet are committed to making their productions accessible to as wide an audience as possible. For Beauty & the Beast in autumn 2012 we will be providing audio described performances, touch tours and workshops for the visually impaired.
