Three Little Pigs

Northern Ballet has once again teamed up with CBeebies in a television adaptation of its second ballet for children, Three Little Pigs. CBeebies Three Little Pigs will be broadcast on Easter Monday at 11am and 5pm.
I was lucky enough to attend the Action for Children’s Arts (ACA) Awards 2014 yesterday with Northern Ballet’s Director of Learning Selina McGonagle, to accept the Outstanding Contribution Award to Children’s Arts on behalf of Northern Ballet. The ceremony was held in the fantastic BBC Radio Theatre at Broadcasting House in London and we felt really honoured to be part of what was a really special afternoon.
We were delighted to be nominated for Best Company at the Taglioni International Ballet Awards and even more delighted to win when the recipients of the awards were announced back in September 2014. Now we've got even more to celebrate after scooping even more awards and nominations! First our Head of Stage, Sid Taylor, won the award for Oustanding Achievement in Stage Crew at the Technical Theatre Awards. read about Sid's award
Were back on the road this week and heading to Woking, New Victoria Theatre with The Great Gatsby and Three Little Pigs. This is the first time in 16 months we've performed The Great Gatsby and we are all excited about reviving the production which finished it's last run at London Sadler's Wells to sell-out performances across the entire week!
Last week I returned to Southampton to join the Company on the last stop of our spring tour at the Mayflower Theatre where we would be performing A Midsummer Night's Dream and Three Little Pigs.
This week we welcome our dancers back to Leeds after being out on tour for for almost a month. It's nice to have them back in the building where rehearsals and creativity are top of the agenda as everyone prepares for the final performances of the season with the Mixed Programme at the Stanley & Audrey Burton Theatre.
It's another one for the history books this week as we travel to Southampton for our very first performances at the Mayflower Theatre from 28 - 31 May. It's also the last time we'll be performing A Midsummer Night's Dream for a while following a tour that has seen us perform this hilarious and magical production at eight theatres in the UK and three theatres in China over the last nine months. So don't miss out, join us at the Mayflower Theatre this week.
This week the magic continues as Puck packs up his mischievous love juice and heads down to Milton Keynes for performances of A Midsummer Night's Dream. Running from 20 - 24 May at Milton Keynes Theatre, tickets are still available so book now and enjoy this colourful and hilarious production. This week is a quiet one in the studios as the Company are casting off their form-fitting lycras in favour of fairy wings and travelling out to Norwich with A Midsummer Night's Dream. This is the home stretch of our spring tour and will see Titania and co also perform in Milton Keynes and Southampton before returning to Leeds for our final performances of the season.
It's an exciting week ahead as we prepare to head down to London for our Company debut at the Royal Opera House's Linbury Studio Theatre.
