We hosted an Accessible Dance sharing brought together groups of dancers with mobility issues and learning difficulties giving them a chance to perform on a professional stage for their friends, family and carers.
in motion is a unique programme for self propelling wheelchair users and people with mobility issues aged 8-19. The programme will enable you to let your creativity flourish and give you the confidence to move in a way you have never done before.

Last week at Northern Ballet 48 children took part in our open Easter Course! The children, all aged between 6 and 13 had a great time looking at extracts from Northern Ballet’s current productions; Three Little Pigs and Cinderella.

Here at Northern Ballet we are always striving to bring exciting stories to life through dance. This week, we celebrated World Book Day and wanted to ask you what has been your favourite story Northern Ballet has transformed into a ballet and why? From William Shakespeare to Charles Dickens, Northern Ballet has created productions inspired by stories from some of the world’s most-loved authors.
Northern Ballet are one of a very few number of dance companies in England to regularly offer audio described performances of their productions for the visually impaired.  Audio description of live performances, like the audio description service on television, describes the action using descriptive rather than technical language, for those who cannot see it.

Northern Ballet and Phoenix Dance Theatre are throwing open their doors to the public on Saturday 15 February and inviting people to take a rare glimpse at what life is like behind-the-scenes in their multi-award winning building. Open House 2014 is a day of free events, which will run from 11am-4:30pm at the companies Quarry Hill home in central Leeds.
Northern Ballet will feature in children’s entertainment programme Something Special on the BBC CBeebies channel on Thursday 16 January. Members of Northern Ballet’s Learning team have worked with the programme in an episode that focuses on dance.
