Ugly Duckling visits Temple Newsam Park

Published on

This is the first week of the school holidays and so children and families are out in force at local parks and attractions, making it the perfect time to let people know about Ugly Duckling, our new ballet for children.

Taking part in a Duck & Spoon race...

Breeze on Tour, who hold free festivals across the city for young people aged 0 – 19, and the Learning team have joined up this week at Temple Newsam Park for some duck fun in the Play Zone.

We’ve had Duck & Spoon races, Hook a Duck and Chuck a Duck games, as well as colouring and board games for children to play with.  But I think the most popular thing has definitely been the Ugly Duckling balloons that we have been giving away – I’ll have the lungs of a top athlete after blowing up so many!  All the parents have been really interested to hear about our production of Ugly Duckling so I hope that, come October, we will see them again at one of the performances!

Hooking the Duck... Getting ready Catching some rays

Next week we join Breeze on Tour in Roundhay Park, from 12 – 5pm on Wednesday and Thursday for more duck action.

Fingers crossed that this dry weather continues...
