Hello Everyone, what a busy weekend we’ve all had!
Northern Ballet’s Three Little Pigs had its premiere performance at The Hunslet Club on Sunday. It was absolutely pigtastic – all the children & families who came to see the shows had a wonderful time. We had mums, dads, brothers, sisters, nans & granddads and, of course, pigs attend the performances!
The technicians were up at the break of dawn to make sure the set was built and ready for the dancers. There was so much to do, I can’t believe they managed to get everything ready in one day. I even had the chance to sit on stage and see what it would be like to be a dancer. It was very exciting and the set looked amazing with the brightly coloured set and lights. I felt like I was in the story of Three Little Pigs.
I helped by greeting audiences & checking tickets. We had lots of the little ones sat at the front to make sure they had the best view possible. I needed to sit at the front as I’m only small too.
I met Hannah & Vicky who are dancers with Northern Ballet and choreographed Three Little Pigs. That means that they rehearsed with the dancers and created all the movement you see on stage. They were really happy that everything went so well! They even got flowers for doing such a good job.
Isabel Abbott one of our name the pig competition winners had the chance to meet Noodle after one of the performances. She was very excited to finally meet him – they had a lovely photo taken and she even had a tour of the stage and got to sit in the brick house!
I was worn out by the end of the day. So, I went home and put my trotters up and had an early night after all the excitement.
But the journey doesn’t stop there! Three Little Pigs will be back next weekend with performances on Saturday 26 October at The Riley Theatre. I better make sure I have plenty of rest before another fun filled day at the theatre.
