Phoenix Dance Theatre | Phoenix Presents...

For one night only on Wednesday 30 September, Phoenix Presents... brings to Leeds the work of the 2014 New Adventures Choreographer Award winners Sally Marie and John Ross alongside Caroline Finn’s darkly comic and playful Bloom, which was commissioned in partnership with New Adventures Choreographer Award and created for Phoenix Dance Theatre in 2014.

Phoenix Dance Theatre | Phoenix @ Home

Phoenix @ Home includes audience favourite Melt, by Artistic Director Sharon Watson, featuring a blend of soaring aerial dance and contemporary choreography. The programme also includes the powerful and hard hitting Document, by European choreographic duo Ivgi and Greben, alongside Darshan Singh Bhuller’s inventive and amusing Mapping.

Phoenix Dance Theatre | A Mindbody Conference

Suffering; a turning point toward growth and creativity, a source of grievance, or simply too much to bear?

Phoenix Dance Theatre and The Orchard Therapy Centre, in collaboration with the Harry Guntrip Psychotherapy Trust, are delighted to be hosting a unique multi-media conference that examines the relationship between the physical and the psychological – ‘mindbody’.

Through live performance, presentations and discussion and discussion, the day will explore the ways that our ‘mindbody’ mitigates, hosts and transforms suffering.

This unique event will include lectures and interviews from a variety of guest speakers, including world renowned psychoanalyst and psychotherapist Mike Brearley, poet Michelle Scally Clarke, and Caroline Owens, Executive Director of the Orchard Therapy Centre. The day will include panel discussions, audience debates and a live dance performance by Phoenix Dance Theatre.

Please note: tickets will need to be collected from the Stanley & Audrey Burton Theatre Box Office on the day of the event. For those purchasing a student ticket, proof of student ID is required.

The Mindbody series are fundraising events in aid of Phoenix Dance Theatre, Harry Guntrip Trust and charitable works of The Orchard Therapy Centre.
