Kenneth returned to the Company in 2003. This season he's looking forward to continuing his choreographic career as well as dancing on tour.

Career highlights

Choreographing Project #1 for Northern Ballet's choreographic showcase, being commissioned to expand that for the 2012 mixed programme, Perpetual Motion and winning the Bundesjungendballett Production Prize at the 26th Choreography Competition in Hanover. Closing the 5th International Bejing Dance Festival as Pinkerton in Madame Butterfly; partnering Viviana Durante’s Aurora in Sleeping Beauty; creating the role of Sydney Carton in Cathy Marston’s A Tale of Two Cities and taking part in 2008 XIII International Ballet Festival in Miami. Working with Wayne McGregor.

Where were you born and raised?

I was born in Dundee, Scotland then moved to London.

Where did you do your dance training?

Central School of Ballet.

When did you join Northern Ballet?

Originally in 2000 and returned in 2003.

What would be your dream role to dance be and why?

Christopher Bruce's Rooster as I feel the role was made for me. [Watch a video of Little Red Rooster - Ed]

If you could adapt one work into a ballet what would it be?

I'd love to share but it's a work in progress!

Who are your artistic influence or heroes?

Anyone who expresses themselves honestly. Anyone who takes the risk to put themselves out there in the first place.

Describe your perfect Sunday morning...

A long lie in, a nice breakfast and perhaps a trip down to the cinema.

What would your luxury item on a desert Island be?

My phone then I can call someone to pick me up.

What are your favourite places in Yorkshire?

Wardrobe (Bar), Harrogate Spa, York, My house.
