Pippa Moore

Pippa trained at the Hammond School of Dance, Chester and the Royal Ballet School. Originally from Liverpool, she has danced with Scottish Ballet, Wiener Ballet Theatre and The Royal Ballet and joined Northern Ballet in 1996.

Where were you born and raised?

Liverpool.

Where did you do your dance training?

The Hammond School, The Royal Ballet School.

When did you join Northern Ballet?

February, 1996.

What made you want to be a dancer?

I was inspired by the films I saw when I was young… Grease, White Nights, Fame, Flashdance.

What would be your dream role to dance and why?

‘Still Life at the Penguin Café,’ any role, I just love the whole piece!

If you could adapt one work into a ballet what would it be?

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Who are your artistic influences or heroes?

Artistically I am influenced every day by music, film, something I’ve seen or read – it isn’t s a specific thing or genre, but my theatre designer boyfriend is definitely my artistic hero!

Describe your perfect Sunday morning...

Not being woken up by my alarm, just waking up when I am ready!

What was the first album you bought and what was the last album you bought?

The Beatles and Adele.

What would be your luxury item on a desert island?

An epic novel.

What are you favourite places in Yorkshire?

The Yorkshire Moors and Dales.
