Simon Kidd
Simon was born in Wembley and started his training in Manchester at the age of seven.
Simon trained at
- The Gwyneth Hare School of Dance
- The Royal Ballet School
- The Northern Ballet School
- The Central School of Ballet
Whilst at Central School, he was awarded honors for his advance ballet R.A.D. and was runner up in the Adelaide Genée Award. He toured with Ballet Central and danced all lead roles to critical acclaim.
Simon has performed with Adventures in Motion Picture, English National Ballet and The Royal Ballet. He spent the largest part of his career with Northern Ballet, where he danced several lead and titled roles including Peter Pan and Romeo. After eight years with the company Simon retired to be with his young family and focus on teaching.
Simon passed his teaching certificates with distinction and has taught extensively. Simon trained the Billy Elliot boys for the West End musical and has been a guest teacher for the IDTA the RAD and the ISTD.
Simon has been a full time teacher at The Hammond School for three years and is excited to be now back at Northern Ballet on the full time teaching staff.
