Preparations are well underway for our Open House 2014 on Saturday 15 February and we can’t wait to welcome you to explore our home and discover more about life behind-the-scenes at Northern Ballet and Phoenix Dance Theatre.
During the day our resident Physiotherapists are on hand to offer completely free mini-Physiotherapy consultations. Chartered Physiotherapist Liz Atha tells us what to expect.
On Friday 12 September after that day's performance of Dracula our Artistic Director, David Nixon OBE, will be answering your questions about the production, the costumes, choreography, characters and more.
We invite you, whether you are attending that performance or not, to submit your questions for David.
Last week ended with such riotous applause during the opening three performances of Dracula, luckily it continues it's run until Saturday 13 September and there's still tickets available so come and join us for this rare outing for the immortal Count.
Dracula is back at West Yorkshire Playhouse this and next week - we first performed David Nixon's take on the immortal Count back in 2005 with David Paul Kierce as one of the leads. Kierce first got his teeth in to the role when David Nixon originally created the ballet for BalletMet, Ohio.
Here's some photos from those 2005 performances...
We are almost at the première of our new children’s ballet Elves & the Shoemaker. On Saturday 13 September the Company will be heading over to The Riley Theatre at Northern School of Contemporary Theatre to perform Elves & the Shoemaker to lots of excited children – and we can’t wait!
With our upcoming production of Dracula at the West Yorkshire Playhouse, last week we ran an event in collaboration with Leeds Central Library to show appreciation for all things gothic and supernatural and to address why Dracula is still as popular as ever in today’s arts and culture.
