Mini Movers & Moving Minis
For the past year I have looked forward to Thursday mornings. On a day to day basis Northern Ballet is a pretty special place to be and I do enjoy coming into work each day but Thursday mornings are extra special - it’s Mini’s Morning - and as I come through the doors I'm greeted by our youngest generation of Academy students.

kokino-marvo ltd, Leeds-based Decision Science and Data Agency spent a day at Northern Ballet last week taking part in a team-building dance workshop with Dance Education Officer Leanne Kirkham.

The 2011-12 Academy season comes to a close
Saturday 7 July saw the final day of term for all Academy students - and what a day it was!
325 students took part in 3 different Academy performances showcasing students from Pre-Ballet all the way up to our oldest professional training programme students.

Open House 2012 in pictures

On Saturday 12 May 2012, along with Phoenix Dance Theatre we held our second Open House inviting everyone to come in, take a look around our home, gain an insight into the workings of two dance companies, take part in taster classes and watch free performances. Brian Slater was on hand to photograph the day, the activities and the fun being had by visitors and staff alike. |

This just in - we are producing a brand new ballet for 2013 - The Great Gatsby.
It will première on Sat 2 March, 2013 at Leeds Grand Theatre. That's all we can say for now but keep checking back for updates!

World Book Day
Today (a March 2012) is World Book Day and we all love a good book here at Northern Ballet towers...
A year ago The Grauniad published an infographic of 117 Books Everyone Should Read – bringing together the UK’s most borrowed library books, Desert Island Discs book choices, Pulitzer Prize winners and more.
We passed this infographic around the Northern Ballet ofices and asked people to tell us which they had read and here are the results...
