Kenneth Tindall wins international choreography prize
Premier Dancer Kenneth Tindall has won the Bundesjugendballett Production Prize at the 26th International Competition for Choreographers in Hanover with his debut piece Project #1 (pictured above and right).
The prestigious competition is held annually and awards outstanding original work produced by young choreographers. The prize will allow Kenneth to create a new work for Germany's National Youth Ballet based in Hamburg next year.
Watch the making of video showing segments of the winning piece before its première at the Stanley & Audrey Burton Theatre back in February. Hearty congratulations to Kenny and all the dancers who performed the work in Hanover.

Ugly Duckling – a ballet for children
Short balelts for small people
We are thrilled to have been awarded new funding to create a three-year programme of small scale family productions to tour across the North of England, with the aim of inspiring and engaging children and families who may not usually access the arts.
Our new production of Ugly Duckling, choreographed by Northern Ballet dancers Dreda Blow and Sebastian Loe, will be performed in Leeds communities and at the Stanley & Audrey Burton Theatre this October, before touring to a further 15 venues across the North of England next spring. Two further ballets will be created for similar tours over the next two years.
Dreda and Seb have been answering some of your questions about Ugly Duckling in our new series of Q&A videos.
