Our Gracious Winner

Martha Leebolt shared with us her thought on winning her recent award at last month’s Critics' Circle National Dance Awards.

"Even being nominated (in November 2010) for Outstanding Female Performance was a highlight of my year, so winning it was just an amazing feeling! But like I said in my speech, I wouldn’t be here today with the support of my colleagues and the admin of Northern Ballet. We are a unique and close-knit group with a built in support system for one another. Our achievements are accomplished as a team.

"The UK is a wonderful place to be a ballet dancer. Its support for the arts is irreplaceable. So, thank you to everyone for all your congratulations and good wishes and a special thank you to David and Yoko who are responsible for my career."
