Northern Ballet's Board Suite provides high quality executive facilities within Leeds' most exciting new creative venue. Situated on the top floor of Northern Ballet’s six storey purpose built centre for dance your guests will enjoy a panoramic view of the city.

The Stage

The Board Suite has been designed to accommodate up to 24 guests seated around a central table making it a perfect setting for meetings, training days and partnership events.

A rooftop terrace complements the Board Suite making it an ideal setting for private functions including drinks receptions and formal dinners and during the day allows natural light to flood into the room. Our 'black swan' wallpaper promises to be a talking point for your guests.

The Board Suite can be split into two for a more intimate space, it has excellent IT facilities and can comfortably accommodate catering inside the room or in the reception space immediately outside of the room.

We can offer a range of catering options and we use carefully selected local suppliers to ensure our food is of the highest quality. We will work with you to ensure the catering for your event, no matter how large or small, meets your budget and the requirements of you, your clients and your guests.

Team building day

Spending a day with Northern Ballet will inspire creativity and provide you and your team with a day to remember.

Take a glimpse into life behind-the-scenes at a worldclass touring ballet company and learn from Northern Ballet's unique approach to the creativity, passion and teamwork required to develop a new production, to manage a successful tour and to achieve a successful World Première.

Through enjoyable yet challenging activities, participants will learn skills that can be transferred into their working environments and everyday lives such as co-operation and teamwork, nonverbal and physical communication (body language), creative thinking, problem solving and confidence building.

A team building day might include a light breakfast, tours of Northern Ballet, an energiser session and/or dance workshop, a chance to work on a creative task set by Northern Ballet's artistic team as well as a training session delivered by a recognised business training provider. Day delegate rates are based on 20-25 staff and include lunch and refreshments.

Dance classes and energisers

A dancer's day always begins with a warm-up, physically and mentally preparing the body and the mind for the demands of the day ahead. Many companies encourage staff to take part in physical activity prior to commencing work to motivate and improve productivity.

So why not enhance your experience at Northern Ballet with a dance class or energiser?

Dance classes for employees, partners or management teams can be designed for an individual organisation's needs, developing skills such as cooperation and teamwork, communication, problem solving and creative thinking.

A Northern Ballet energiser is a gentle exercise routine that can take place from your seat and will accommodate all delegates. It takes 10 minutes and is a fun way to engage and motivate a large group of people during a conference day.

The dance class or energiser is delivered by a member of Northern Ballet's experienced Learning team. The sessions are charged in addition to room hire and catering charges.

It is also possible to add talks from our technical and wardrobe departments to your day and when the Company is home, observing Northern Ballet in class or rehearsal is an unforgettable experience. Additional fees may apply.

Northern Ballet offers exceptional facilities and flexible options for conferences, meetings, formal dinners, cocktail parties and performances. Unlike any other venue, it is home to two world-class dance companies, Northern Ballet and Phoenix Dance Theatre. Holding an event here will bring you, your colleagues and your clients in touch with these two exceptional companies.

Our ground floor 230-seat Studio Theatre is an exceptional venue for conferences and performances.

It is a flexible space with retractable seating and can be divided into two smaller but still sizeable studio spaces, perfect for the smaller conference or the more intimate lecture or recital. Fully-opened the Studio Theatre is the largest dance studio in Europe.

Large windows run the length of the room and allow natural light to flood in during the day as well as providing glimpses of the activities inside for passers by. For extra inspiration etched into the glass is a stunning zoetrope of images of dancers created by artist Joe Fairfax and a viewing gallery allows visitors to watch the action. The space also has blackout blinds if required meaning any lighting effects won't be lost and privacy is guaranteed.

Technical support and event organisation

The adjoining control room has superb technical facilities providing lighting and sound designed to impress. Our experienced technical staff, drawn from the same team who create Northern Ballet's stunning performances on tour, will work with you to ensure your event delivers the effect you require.

Performance £800 per day £3,200 per week
Technical support £20 per hour £150 per day
Get in (2 hours evening before 7-9pm)   £150

A minimum of one technician is compulsory at a cost of £150 per day(or £20 per hour) when using the performance space. Additional technicians are available at an extra cost.

Conference £650 per day £2,600 per week

Conference prices are inclusive of technical support. Prices include the setting up and operation of the AV equipment. Further costs may be incurred for extra IT support.

Studio 1 or 2 £50 per hour £300 per day £1,250 per week

Registered charities and community groups can receive discounted rates, contact us for further information.
