16 June will see 30 talented young dancers from six primary schools across Leeds will have their first experience at dancing in one of Northern Ballet’s first-class studios when they come together for a day of dance designed to challenge and expand their dance abilities.
The clouds are gathering, the temperature’s dropping and rain is on the way – that’s right, it’s festival time! Our Dance in the City summer school takes place from 22–26 August and offers a new perspective on Leeds through creative dance sessions which will have you dancing in the streets.
Based in the heart of the city at Northern Ballet on Quarry Hill our state-of-the art dance studios provide an inspirational setting for all aspiring dancers.

The course is for full-time dance students aged 16 and over, who are already in professional training, and takes place at Northern Ballet’s new state-of-the-art studios in Leeds city centre.

For the rest of this term Northern Ballet Academy are offering half price classes in contemporary and jazz to get the people of Leeds up and dancing and ready for the beach! That means classes are just £3.25 each.

Quarry Hill Festival is a day of free performances, workshops, classes and behind-the-scenes insights from some of Leeds’ leading cultural organisations all based on and around the Quarry Hill area of the city.
Northern Ballet and Phoenix Dance Theatre dancers are turning their hands to choreography for their first ever showcase of work at their home on Quarry Hill. The Choreographic Showcase will be performed on 17 and 18 June at 7.30pm in the Stanley & Audrey Burton Theatre.
