After nearly a year of planning, the tour to China is upon us. Tomorrow the Technicians set off followed by the rest of us on Sunday - 57 people in total plus a contingent from Leeds and Partners, Leeds City Council and sereval Leeds businesses. The planning for a tour of this scale is a major undertaking but we are now as well prepared as we can be.
Many people know our dancers but there are lots of people in our head quarters who are important to life at Northern Ballet and Karen Dixon, one of our Receptionists, is one of them. I had a quick chat with Karen to find out what life is like in our busy reception.
When did you join Northern Ballet?
I started at Northern Ballet in June of 2006.

Often I find the excitement of traveling in savoring the anticipation. I love to imagine what lies ahead - what the people are like, where are the busiest streets, how will I end up spending my time?
On 5, 6 and 7 December we asked you to support our Sponsor a Dancer campaign in the Big Give Christmas Challenge – and you didn’t disappoint!
We kicked off the Big Give by welcoming dance students from Headingley Ballet School who presented a £125 cheque towards the campaign following a second-hand uniform sale run by the students to raise money. By the end of the Big Give we had achieved £59,053.80 in donations, beating last year’s total by more than £2,000!
