To accompany our production of David Nixon’s Swan Lake we are offering several Step Closer events offering you a unique chance to find out ‘behind the scenes’ information about the Company and how the ballet was created, as well as the opportunity to meet other people who are interested in Northern Ballet.

Already into September and we have completed four weeks of the most jam packed rehearsal period ever! The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Dangerous Liaisons, A Christmas Carol and a pinch of Cleopatra. It's all go, go, go and pack, pack, pack!

New look for nation’s favourite ballet company

Northern Ballet Theatre is launching a subtle change of name. The Company will now be known as Northern Ballet, dropping “theatre” from its title.

The new name is part of a complete rebrand which comes after months of consultation and deliberation and coincides with the Company’s move to its new home in Quarry Hill, Leeds.

Northern Ballet & Phoenix Dance Theatre Summer School

It’s the start of the school holidays, but pupils at Cockburn College of Arts and the surrounding primary schools don’t get a rest as they are taking part in our summer school, in partnership with Phoenix Dance Theatre.

Dance helps transition from primary to secondary school

NBT and Phoenix Dance Theatre are in Middleton this week with their summer school for young people. The course is being held at the Cockburn College of Arts and will introduce primary and secondary school students to ballet and contemporary dance. As well as honing their dance skills the project aims to ease the transition from primary to secondary school: the younger members are being introduced to their new school and the older members will mentor and help them.

Don't Just Sit There - Opening Weekend

To celebrate the Opening weekend of the 2012 London Olympics, imove’s Don’t Just Sit There project will be performing at Headingley Carnegie Cricket ground on Friday, 23rd July, 2010 (15:10 – 15:30 tea break) during the Australia vs Pakistan test match.
