The night before Christmas...

Published on

‘Twas the night before Christmas, when at Quarry Hill,
Not a leotard or pointe shoe sat on the sill,
The studios are silent, not a whisper or sound,
It’s a strange kind of feeling not usually found,

The students have broken up for the term,
We’ll see them next year, ready to learn,
Their twirling and laughter filling the class,
As they practice for exams they will surely pass,

Our dancers are resting at home in their beds,
A short Christmas break to lay down their heads,
Cinderella awaits them, destined for the ball,
From Boxing Day onwards you can see them all,

But up in the office, still working away,
The Northern Ballet staff haven’t gone away,
They’ll stay until Santa sets off in his sleigh,
Singing ‘Merry Christmas to all, may it be filled with ballet’!
