A day in the life of a touring wardrobe

The Company are currently out on tour and our Wardrobe team are hard at work behind the scenes making sure all our costumes are looking their best for show time. Kim Brassley, Head of Wardobe, kindly let me know what a day is like for our wardrobe team whilst on tour. 

10am

Make sure the Quick Change Rooms are in the right places and have lights, mirrors and rails in them.

11am

Finish putting out the costumes for that evening’s show and any that are needed for that afternoon’s technical rehearsal and finish any repairs as necessary.

 

12.30 – 1.30 Lunch

2/2.30 pm

Technical rehearsal

Finish off preparations for the evening show and start to set up for the next day’s show.

 

5.30 – 6.30 Tea

6.30pm 

Dressers arrive. Show the Dressers where they will be during the show and what changes they will be doing.

 

7.30pm Show time!

10pm

Collect the costumes after the show and put the washing on overnight. Make a note of any repairs for the next day.

10.30/11pm

Home time
