As Dracula prepared to return for the first time in five years, we spoke to Senior Wardrobe Manager Mikhaila Pye to find out just what it takes to get our dancers on stage in their Victorian finest...
We start planning the wardrobe for a revival as soon as possible, or as soon as we get the casting for a production. We got the Dracula costumes back from storage before the summer break at the end of June.
It's back to work this week for our dancers who we welcome back from a four-week summer holiday.
While we've been in the office enjoying the sunshine in Leeds over the last few weeks our dancers have been racking up some air miles during their well-deserved summer holiday. So where do dancers jet off to rest their legs and work on their tans? We asked some of them to let us in on their plans.
This is a 'Tales from Touring' blog with a difference - 'Tales from Le Tour' to be precise - as I went with Isadora Valero Meza and Sebastian Loe on a journey along this weekend's Tour de France route for a photo shoot with the Yorkshire Post, Harvey Nichols and Vidal Sassoon showcasing the best of Yorkshire alongside some stunning French fashion.
This week we welcome our dancers back to Leeds after being out on tour for for almost a month. It's nice to have them back in the building where rehearsals and creativity are top of the agenda as everyone prepares for the final performances of the season with the Mixed Programme at the Stanley & Audrey Burton Theatre.
It's another one for the history books this week as we travel to Southampton for our very first performances at the Mayflower Theatre from 28 - 31 May. It's also the last time we'll be performing A Midsummer Night's Dream for a while following a tour that has seen us perform this hilarious and magical production at eight theatres in the UK and three theatres in China over the last nine months. So don't miss out, join us at the Mayflower Theatre this week.
