The Company are currently out on tour and our Wardrobe team are hard at work behind the scenes making sure all our costumes are looking their best for show time. Kim Brassley, Head of Wardobe, kindly let me know what a day is like for our wardrobe team whilst on tour. 10am Make sure the Quick Change Rooms are in the right places and have lights, mirrors and rails in them. 11am
We are often asked why our Short Ballets are scheduled as they are, especially about the times of performances. There are two parts of the Short Ballets tour - from March to April where we take it to as many theatres as is possible and then from May when the short ballets joins the main tour.
Not so much drama on the high seas than dancing on the high seas. Northern Ballet will tour A Midsummer Night’s Dream to China in January 2014 and the production was due to return to the UK in time for performances in Edinburgh in March. Due to a lack of available ships however the set and costumes won’t now make it back to the UK in time for the Company’s scheduled performances at Edinburgh Festival Theatre.
We has a great deal in store for you in our 45th anniversary year, 2014... Cinderella In January we have the last five performances of Cinderella at Leeds Grand Theatre before it tours in the spring and autumn.
Often I find the excitement of traveling in savoring the anticipation. I love to imagine what lies ahead - what the people are like, where are the busiest streets, how will I end up spending my time?
