A Christmas Carol

We are deeply saddened to hear of Kevin's passing and we would like to extend our deepest sympathies to his wife Pat and his family and friends at this incredibly difficult time. Kevin was a great supporter of Northern Ballet for many years and was thought of fondly by the whole Company. He was a truly valued advocate for dance in the North of England and will be sadly missed by all the staff at Northern Ballet.
Northern Ballet’s A Christmas Carol and The Three Musketeers are to be staged by Royal New Zealand Ballet and Alberta Ballet on opposite sides of the globe this autumn.

Ghostly greetings from Northern Ballet!  On this chilly Halloween we are enjoying everything spooky with our ghoulish production of A Christmas Carol currently touring the UK. Christmas is never far away with with our heart-warming and hugely popular adaptation of Charles Dickens' classic tale. Principal dancers in this video...
As our Autumn tour continues, we are bringing Christmas early this year with the return of A Christmas Carol to celebrate its 21st Anniversay. The first stop for Scrooge and the Christmas ghosts is Norwich. As this was my first ime in the Norwich I did some investigating into what life is like working in the theatre and I interviewed the lovely Amelia Goymer, Box Office Assistant at Norwich Theatre Royal.
Massimo Moricone was born in 1958. He commenced his training in Rome at the Centro Sperimentale di Danza Contemporanea, and then later at Mudra, the Maurice Bejart school in Brussels, and at the Centre Internationale de la Danse in Cannes. Massimo Moricone has also studied acting but decided later to pursue a career in dance. He went on to appear with many companies throughout Italy, dancing the ballets of leading choreographers, including Alvin Ailey, Amedeo Amodio, Felix Blaska, George Balanchine, Janine Charrat, Derek Deane, Heinz Spoerli and Vittorio Biagi.
When Northern Ballet produced A Christmas Carol in 1992 it was the first time that the Dickens novel had been performed as a ballet. Produced under the then Artistic Director Christopher Gable, the first performance was on 26th September 1992 at the Theatre Royal, Bath, and has since proved an extremely popular ballet. This resource pack is aimed at teachers of Key Stages 2 and 3 with the option to use the information and ideas presented for other Key Stages.
