The aim of our senior summer school is to prepare students for company life, to help them to understand the demands of a professional career on their bodies and the discipline required to prevent injury.  Students will learn the fundamentals of the Ichino technique - a pre-requisite for acceptance by Northern Ballet.
Mission Northern Ballet's Associate training programme was established in 1998 and today attracts students from as far afield as Glasgow, Birmingham and Liverpool. Students in the Associate Division are aged between 10 and 16 years old and currently contemplating a career in dance. The students attend regular weekly enhancement classes at the Academy, in addition to their regular training elsewhere, to help prepare them for future full-time vocational training. “
Centre for Advanced Training (CAT) Mission The Professional Division is for students aged between 10 and 17 years old and provides intensive, non residential training to students who show exceptional potential in classical ballet. 100% of our students who have wished to continue their training post 17-years-old have gained entry into the top vocational dance schools both in the UK and abroad.

The International Easter Course is open to students who are already in full-time classical ballet training as well as students on classical associate programmes.

The Academy of Northern Ballet is striving to ensure that talented students can access training, regardless of family or financial background. If you have a query or concern regarding fees please contact the Academy team to discuss. The full cost of the course is £3,577 per year (based on costs for September 2013) and means tested financial support is available to successful applicants. Please note that from Level 4 and above there is £73 top-up fee bringing the course cost to £3,650.

Our free Open Days give prospective students the chance to meet the Academy of Northern Ballet staff and find out more about the training programmes and technique in a taster class.
Joseph Poulton was in the very first cohort of students that we took onto our Centre for Advanced Training Programme (CAT) back in 2004.
