Academy of Northern Ballet

Following two successful open days at its Leeds city-centre home, there is less than one week to go for Yorkshire’s future ballet stars to submit their applications to audition for the Academy of Northern Ballet. The only Centre for Advanced Training specialising in classical ballet in the UK, the Academy of Northern Ballet is directly affiliated with Northern Ballet’s professional company and provides world-class pre-professional training for the ballet dancers of the future.
The Academy of Northern Ballet is hosting open days on Sunday 1 and Sunday 15 February 2015 at its home in Leeds city-centre for young people interested in pursuing their passion for ballet with professional training. The free open days will run from 9.30am to 4pm on Sunday 1 February and 9.30am – 12.30pm on Sunday 15 February and include sessions for budding dancers aged 9-12 and 13-15, as well as dedicated boys only sessions.

Northern Ballet has collaborated with The Alchemist to create a limited edition cocktail to mark the Company’s arrival at the Palace Theatre in Manchester with Cinderella. Northern Ballet will bring the ultimate rags to riches fairytale to the Manchester Palace Theatre stage from 18 – 22 November 2014 with a magical new production of Cinderella by David Nixon OBE. It held its World Première at Leeds Grand Theatre in December 2013 and tours to Manchester for the penultimate stop of its first national tour.
It's back to work this week for our dancers who we welcome back from a four-week summer holiday.
We hosted an Accessible Dance sharing brought together groups of dancers with mobility issues and learning difficulties giving them a chance to perform on a professional stage for their friends, family and carers.
