As we recently announced, our next ballet for children will be Three Little Pigs, and for the first time ever we will be offering a Relaxed Performance of the production.
This Easter Northern Ballet were incredibly busy delivering two courses for young people during their school holidays.
This resource pack is designed to give teachers an insight into Northern Ballet's production of The Great Gatsby, and to provide creative ideas that can be used in the classroom. It is particularly suitable for teachers working with pupils in dance and drama.
We offer a variety of events and resources to enhance your experience at the theatre, ensuring that our performances are accessible to everyone. To learn more about the production you are going to see or to get closer to the company, come to an A Step Closer event at your local theatre. If you have never been to the theatre before, have a look at our Trip to the Theatre game and find out what to expect on your visit.
You are never too young to enjoy ballet, whether you want to watch or join in. We offer a variety of classes for children aged 18 months upwards and our short ballets are the perfect introduction to ballet and live performance for the whole family.
We believe that everyone can dance and we offer classes, courses, workshops and activities that ensure you can find something that suits your needs.
All of our workshops and projects are inclusive of participants with disabilities but we also run activities specifically tailored to those with disabilities, offering the space and support to explore dance in their own way.
We have paved the way in creating opportunities for visually impaired audiences to engage with our productions. Our unique Access Day enables visually impaired patrons to enjoy a full range of activities that enhance the enjoyment and understanding of ballet. The day consists of a touch tour on stage to feel the set, props and costumes, an insight session introducing movements from the production assisted by Company dancers, and an audio described performance. The performance, audio described by VocalEyes, enables visually impaired patrons to enjoy the story of the ballet and the emotion and quality of the movement accompanied by music played live by the Northern Ballet Sinfonia.
