Workshops are a fun introduction to ballet for all ages through an exploration of scenes from our productions. Using movement and creative dance, they offer the opportunity to develop pupils' spatial awareness, communication and teamwork skills, and get everyone moving as part of a healthier lifestyle.
Our under 3s project introduces young children to dance through music, storytelling and multisensory play. It enables the centres’ staff to develop the confidence and skills to deliver dance activities themselves as a regular part of their work, while allowing the children to respond creatively to the exploration of a story.
Our workshops give you the chance to explore your creativity and develop your ballet skills with the help of a professional dance artist. Whether you are new to ballet or have danced all your life, we will help you learn the steps from one of our productions in no time.
Inspire your students with a repertoire workshop that will give them a taste of life in a professional ballet company and enable them to learn a dance from a Northern Ballet production of your choice.
Our short ballets introduce children and their families to ballet and the theatre for the first time. Performed in small and informal settings with affordably priced tickets and at only 45 minutes long, the ballets offer a chance to see high quality productions that are accessible to all.  Over the next three years we are performing three original short ballets made specifically for children aged 4+ across the northern region.
Fnid out more about the Ability course, dates and open days...
We've had another wonderful START project this term where we have worked with seventeen schools from all over West Yorkshire.
Last Friday was the last day of term on our Ability course for adults with learning disabilities. The course is a new venture for Northern Ballet and has got off to a great start.
This resource pack is designed to give teachers an insight into Northern Ballet’s production of Beauty & the Beast, and to provide creative ideas and tasks that can be used in the classroom. It is particularly suitable for teachers working with pupils in dance and drama. It also provides some signposts for links with other areas of the curriculum.
