Inspire your students with a repertoire workshop that will give them a taste of life in a professional ballet company and enable them to learn a dance from a Northern Ballet production of your choice.
Our short ballets introduce children and their families to ballet and the theatre for the first time. Performed in small and informal settings with affordably priced tickets and at only 45 minutes long, the ballets offer a chance to see high quality productions that are accessible to all.  Over the next three years we are performing three original short ballets made specifically for children aged 4+ across the northern region.
Fnid out more about the Ability course, dates and open days...
We've had another wonderful START project this term where we have worked with seventeen schools from all over West Yorkshire.
Last Friday was the last day of term on our Ability course for adults with learning disabilities. The course is a new venture for Northern Ballet and has got off to a great start.
This resource pack is designed to give teachers an insight into Northern Ballet’s production of Beauty & the Beast, and to provide creative ideas and tasks that can be used in the classroom. It is particularly suitable for teachers working with pupils in dance and drama. It also provides some signposts for links with other areas of the curriculum.
Although it may not seem like it with this weather, the summer is here and so our regular classes are drawing to a close for the summer holidays. To mark the end of term and to celebrate a couple of significant birthdays (I obviously can’t give their ages away, but you wouldn’t believe me anyway as their youthful looks belie their years), our Dancing for the Over 55s class held a picnic lunch after their class this week.
Friday was a day of recovery for the Learning team as the START project came to an end for another year. On Thursday we had 550 young people (plus their teachers) watching the performance of Madame Butterfly at Leeds Grand Theatre and the atmosphere in the theatre was electric.
