Northern Ballet supports Love Arts Festival. Love Arts Festival explores and celebrates the role of the arts in relation to mental health and well-being.
On Friday 2 September Northern Ballet held it's third annual Ballet on Briggate bringing dance into the heart of the city. Performing on stage were Northern Ballet dancers, Phoenix Dance Theatre, Northern Ballet Academy students, Phoenix Youth Academy students, the Association of Dance of the African Diaspora (ADAD), Kala Sangam and Manasamitra. The course is open to anyone aged 7 to 16 with an interest in dance.

In March and May, the Learning team held taster sessions for the Wheelchair Dance project, offering young people in Leeds who are wheelchair users, the chance to try some dance.
Join Northern Ballet this summer for a week of exciting dance and look at the city of Leeds from a whole new angle. Our Dance in the City summer school takes place from 22–26 August and offers a new perspective on Leeds through creative dance sessions which will have you dancing in the streets. Based in the heart of the city at Northern Ballet on Quarry Hill our state-of-the art dance studios provide an inspirational setting for all aspiring dancers.
At the end of March Northern Ballet played host to nearly 500 children from all around Leeds as paart of the START project. The project, supported by the Prince’s Foundation for Children and the Arts, enables young people who wouldn’t normally have the opportunity to access the arts, to take part in dance activities and to visit local theatres.
