Northern Ballet is honoured to have received a nomination for Best Company at the Taglioni European Ballet Awards with additional recognition for one of its Premier Dancers, Kenneth Tindall, who has been nominated for Best Young Choreographer.
Northern Ballet Premier Dancer and choreographer, Kenneth Tindall, discusses his latest commission for Northern Ballet, The Architect.
Also features exclusive behind-the-scenes footage of the piece's creation.
This week we welcome our dancers back to Leeds after being out on tour for for almost a month. It's nice to have them back in the building where rehearsals and creativity are top of the agenda as everyone prepares for the final performances of the season with the Mixed Programme at the Stanley & Audrey Burton Theatre.
It's another one for the history books this week as we travel to Southampton for our very first performances at the Mayflower Theatre from 28 - 31 May. It's also the last time we'll be performing A Midsummer Night's Dream for a while following a tour that has seen us perform this hilarious and magical production at eight theatres in the UK and three theatres in China over the last nine months. So don't miss out, join us at the Mayflower Theatre this week.
The Architect was created for Northern Ballet in 2014 and takes inspiration from the story of Adam & Eve. The piece is Kenneth Tindall's third commission for the Company and is premièring as part of the Mixed Programme at the Stanley & Audrey Burton Theatre in Leeds in June 2014.
This time next week the Company will be in residence at the Royal Opera House's Linbury Studio Theatre with a Mixed Programme. It's an important occasion for two reasons as it's our first ever performance at the famous Covent Garden venue and this is also the first time we've performed a triple bill outside of Leeds in recent years.
If you haven't seen Northern Ballet in a Mixed Programme before then you've never seen Northern Ballet quite like this!
