World Book Day 2014
Here at Northern Ballet we are always striving to bring exciting stories to life through dance.
This week, we celebrated World Book Day and wanted to ask you what has been your favourite story Northern Ballet has transformed into a ballet and why?
From William Shakespeare to Charles Dickens, Northern Ballet has created productions inspired by stories from some of the world’s most-loved authors.
We want audiences of all ages to enjoy our performances and see these well known, classic stories brought to life, through spectacular staging, costume and dance. Not only must our dancers be great at dancing but they must be great actors too, bringing iconic characters to life on stage and ensuring audiences go on an exciting journey with them.
This year, our Easter Course will give youngsters aged 6-13 years the chance to explore classic fairytales from Northern Ballet productions. Looking at Three Little Pigs and Cinderella, participants will see that dancing isn’t all about pirouetting and prancing across the stage. You need to be able to bring characters to life and convey lots of different emotions through dance. To be a good dancer, you must be a good performer and our Easter Course helps to develop participants’ expression and confidence to tell a story through the movement.
During the course, you will have the opportunity to create your own piece of dance inspired by the magical and exciting characters from Cinderella and Three Little Pigs. And at the end of the week you will take the stage and impress your family and friends with the new dance skills you have learnt.
The course will take place from Mon 14 – 17 April 2014 . To book a place, please contact me on 0113 220 8000 or email email@example.com
