I have recently been on a two day training course with Stopgap Dance Company exploring inclusive dance teaching. It was an inspiring couple of days and I really enjoyed meeting different teachers and dancers from across Yorkshire. The time and space to work with different teachers allowed me to research deeper in to different techniques to ensure our offer of dance at Northern Ballet is accessible, innovative and inspiring.
START Hospices Programme at Northern Ballet supported by The Prince's Foundation for Children & the Arts
Northern Ballet has been running a project in partnership with Martin House Children's Hospice in Wetherby. The project has given young people with progressive life-limiting illnesses, and their families, the opportunity to experience and take part in high quality arts activities which they may not usually have access to.
We are exploring new ways of engaging people with learning more about ballet through online applications. We have been working with Bedford Interactive through funding from the Arts Council England to develop software and content that can be used to develop dance appreciation skills and we would like feedback on using it. We'd like you to try out the app and tell us what you think.
