Became a regular member of Northern Ballet in 2002
In 1978 was appointed as a teacher by the Tirana Conservatory. Repertoire as a soloist with orchestra in Albania embraced concertos (such as Bruch, Lalo, Beethoven, Brahms Double, Beethoven Triple, Chausson-Poeme) and sonatas from Bach to Prokofiev, as well as many modern Albanian works. In England continued career as a soloist and orchestra player.
Concertos performed include: Tchaikovsky, Mendessohn, Burch, Bach A-minor, Lutoslawski-Chain Two, Arnold-Concerto for two violins; Chamber music: Prokofiev Sonata op. 80, Brahms Sonata op. 78, Bach Solo Sonata 1, Beethoven 5, Tchaikovsky Waltz-Scherzo, Vivaldi-Four Seasons, Schoenberg’s Chamber Symphony op. 9, Stravinsky – The Soldier’s Tale, Schonberg – Pierrot Lunaire, Schubert’s Quintet, The Trout, Schubert – Octet, Messiaen Quartet for the End of Time etc.
Worked with several orchestras, including Opera North (English Northern Philharmonia), East of England Orchestra, Northern Chamber Orchestra etc.
Since 1993 taught violin at the University of Leeds.
Born in Fier in Albania
Lives in Leeds together with husband Eno - who used to work as the conductor at the University of Leeds, School of Music.
Began to study at the violin at the age of six at the Tirana Music School, Albania, and pursued higher studies at Bucharest Conservatoire, Romania. Then graduated from the Tirana Conservatory in 1977.
