On Saturday 12 May 2012, along with Phoenix Dance Theatre we held our second Open House inviting everyone to come in, take a look around our home, gain an insight into the workings of two dance companies, take part in taster classes and watch free performances.
Brian Slater was on hand to photograph the day, the activities and the fun being had by visitors and staff alike.
We are about to fling open our doors to the public for our Open House 2012.
Coming to prominence in the 1920s, the music of George Gershwin was the soundtrack to glamorous flappers, prohibition cocktails and the novels of F. Scott Fitzgerald.
Later in the century with the rise of technicolour his music was used to score the lush 1950s Hollywood musical An American in Paris starring Gene Kelly. During the 1970s Woody Allen used Gershwin’s music in the opening scene of Manhattan. As a result, the sound of Gershwin is part of the popular history of America.

I'm having a good day today – not only because the sun is shining but because I have just been to a lovely Japanese tea morning at John Jamieson School which is a school for pupils with learning difficulties in East Leeds.
The last open classes before the Easter break are on Saturday 31 March and start again on the week of 16 April. CAT classes break up on Friday 30 March.
Associate classes return on week of 23 April.

Northern Ballet is thrilled to announce an exciting new full-length ballet for 2013.
This just in - we are producing a brand new ballet for 2013 - The Great Gatsby.
It will première on Sat 2 March, 2013 at Leeds Grand Theatre. That's all we can say for now but keep checking back for updates!
