It's been an incredible month for Northern Ballet with the star-studded London première of Cleopatra going down a storm with celebrities and audiences alike. Closer to home Giselle made its debut at Leeds Grand Theatre demonstrating our dancers really are masters of both new and traditional ballet.

Our landmark powerhouse for inventive dance, shared with Phoenix Dance Theatre, has reached the semi-final in the Best Arts Project category for the National Lottery Awards. We'd love to reach the final so please help us and vote now.

We're delighted to reveal that Northern Ballet Dancers Hannah Bateman, Kenneth Tindall, Sebastian Loe, Victoria Sibson, Dreda Blow and Graham Kotowich will each be presenting a piece of original dance during this event. Also choreographing are Ballet Master Daniel De Andrade, ex-ENB dancer Chun-Yen Chia, ex-Northern Ballet dancer Keiko Amemori plus members of Phoenix Dance Theatre. Don't miss this unique opportunity to see these up and coming choreographers at work.

Next Thursday enjoy Northern Ballet Sinfonia's Sting Trio performing pieces by Mozart and Dohnanyi. The International Jewish Performing Arts Festival runs from 26 – 30 June and highlights include cutting edge drama with The Dreamer and They Came to Leeds. Israel's leading performance art academy Beit Zvi (pictured above) will entertain with their sophisticated musical revue while New York's Kosher Gospel Show will perform their uplifting and energetic show.

On Saturday 2 July from 9am – 6pm ten of Leeds' leading cultural organisations will throw open their doors for free workshops, tours and more in the first ever Quarry Hill Festival. Northern Ballet will be running Beauty & the Beast-themed family workshops and building tours. All events at the festival are free but booking is recommended to avoid disappointment.
