One of the main benefits of training at the Northern Ballet Academy is having the connection with the professional Company. It allows students to interact with the Company dancers, watch Company training and rehearsals and so gives them a greater understanding of what it is like to be a professional dancer.
The students are trained by a faculty of international teachers who have all had professional dance experience. Northern Ballet’s training programmes allow students to access high quality professional dance training whilst still being able to live at home and maintain a regular home life. For many families, moving away from home at the age of 11 is not an option. For these students the CAT scheme means that they can train intensively and can still go home to their families at the end of the evening. We find that this leads to very well rounded individuals and also allows students to stay on top of their academic studies.
