Manasamitra's Spring Fest at Northern Ballet this weekend

The sun’s been shining (sadly not quite so much today), a hint of summer is in the air and festival season is round the corner.  But one festival is already in full swing and here at Northern Ballet we’re all so excited that our wonderful new building is one of the lucky festival venues. Spring fest! is a celebration of music, dance and art.

Celebrating their 5th birthday this year Manasamitra is a West Yorkshire based arts organisation with a passion for providing a high quality introduction to Indian and South Asian culture through music, dance, storytelling, crafts and visual arts. The festival was launched at Northern Ballet’s Studio Theatre earlier this month and continues here this weekend with Kadri Gopalnath the incredibly talented (and titled!) “Emperor of Indian saxophone” on Saturday at 7.30pm and one of India’s finest quartets, The Madras String Quartet on Sunday at 7.30pm.  These make up two of the Trailblazers Trilogy, with the final event on 27 April with Niladri Kumar and Talvin Singh.

Tickets are still available.  To book for this weekend call the Box Office at Northern Ballet on 0113 220 8008 or book online now.  We can’t wait – hope you’ll be joining us!
