Quack quack! What a wonderful few days I’ve just had at the Breeze on tour event at Kirkstall Abbey.
It was such fun and the weather was glorious! My duck friends who will be migrating here from Greenland shortly will be sorry to have missed all this sunshine. Because it was so hot I got a special treat of an ice cream, which was a lot tastier then the stale bread that I’m used to being fed at the duck pond!
I've met hundreds of lovely children over the last few days - we played hook-a-duck and did some colouring.
We had a few celebrities visit us on Wednesday as the gold medal winning boxer Nicola Adams came to the park and I was lucky enough to meet Ronny the Rhino from Leeds Rhinos! He was a lovely chap, although I was a little nervous when he picked me up as he is so big and his horn looks like it could hurt a little duckling!
There have been lots of suggestions of a name for me in the Name the Duckling competition. Over the next few weeks I will go through them all and will let you know some of the names that I like, and then on the 24 September my friends at Northern Ballet and I will announce the winner.
I'm so excited, I can't help flapping my wings at the thought of finally getting a real name!
I met some other furry friends who were visiting, and had a look found the beautiful ruins of the Abbey. They told me that the Northern Ballet Sinfonia will be playing a concert at the abbey at Classical Fantasia in a few weeks time – I think I might have a paddle up the river and listen to the music and enjoy the spectacular firework display.
