Prince Edward to open Northern Ballet centre in Leeds

A multi-million pound ballet and dance centre in Leeds has been officially opened by its patron, Prince Edward. Building work at the home of the Northern Ballet and the Phoenix Dance Theatre, close to West Yorkshire Playhouse, was completed in 2010.
The Yorkshire Society celebrated 30 years of fighting the county’s corner at its anniversary gala dinner.
The event, held at the National Railway Museum on Friday, showcased talented acts from Yorkshire as part of the society’s mission to promote the arts, culture, local businesses and individuals within the county.

Prince Edward will officially open a new dance centre which organisers hope will establish Leeds 'as a powerhouse for dance' in the country.
Northern Ballet and Phoenix Dance Theatre will launch their new, purpose-built centre for dance in Leeds, with an official opening by Northern Ballet's Royal Patron, the Earl of Wessex, next Tuesday.

Leeds based dance companies Northern Ballet and Phoenix Dance Theatre are throwing open the doors of their new home, on Quarry Hill, on Saturday 22 January from 11.30am - 5pm for a fun packed Open Day.
Students got some first hand experience of how to make careers for themselves in the performing arts during a special day-long World of Work event. Northern Ballet and hotly tipped new girl band Parade visited Rodillian High School, along with representatives from the West Yorkshire Playhouse, to help all those interested jobs in the arts
