Aylesbury Waterside Theatre Grand Opening
Northern Ballet gave the inaugural performance at Aylesbury’s new Waterside Theatre on 12 October, performing Swan Lake to a full and star-studded auditorium.
The glitterati were out in force to greet a cheering crowd outside. The many household names included Tony Christie who sang his hit “Is this the way to Amarillo”, Ruby Wax, David Suchet, Simon Callow, Richard O’Brien, Suzanne Shaw, Warwick Davis, and Cilla Black, who officially opened the theatre.

Northern Ballet soloist Martin Bell was on hand to photograph the guests as they arrived at the theatre and also took some lovely pictures of David Suchet and Simon Callow backstage with the dancers after the performance.

Dancer Christie Duncan was thrilled to bits to meet her screen idol David Suchet, who’s Poirot kept her occupied during weeks off with an injury!
The response to the performance was terrific and the Company did itself proud once again.
