Peter Pan Reviews
This new ballet has breathtaking moments of flying, from Peter Pan's first flying leap through the big window into the nursery to the four children setting off to fly to Never Never Land … Stephen Warbeck's first ever ballet score is a winner and adds musical tone to events on, and often above, stage.
BBC Online
Christian Broomhall was born to be Pan: mercurial, Puckish, he mastered the wires and flew into our hearts.
The Guardian
Peter Pan (Christian Broomhall) makes his entrance on wires … stopping at gravity-defying angles … he uses the same vocabulary of jumps and little springs, keeping the idea of flight even when he's on the ground.
The Independent
It has something for everyone: flying, fights, suspense, nostalgia and even a whiff of romance … this Peter Pan is a treat for young and old.
Independent on Sunday
Poignant, action-packed and full of childish fun, it's going to be a Christmas favourite.
Yorkshire Post
…the Darling children fly as surely no Darling children can have flown on a stage before… They leap, they soar, they hold hands and break away. Their journey to Neverland is joyfully choreographed.
The Stage
…this has to be one of the most incredibly technical productions on show anywhere in the UK at the moment… You just don't get much better than this.
Teletext
It is lovely to look at … Peter Mumford's sets and lighting are excellent… And then the flying: this is very important for any Peter Pan, and it is cleverly done … Christian Broomhall, as the lively and engaging Peter, performs prodigies of flying … flitting on and off the furniture, hovering at cantilever angles. He is incredibly athletic, too, when not on a wire.
The Sunday Times
The big-budget scenery changes make audiences gasp, the costumes are flamboyant and fantastical, there's lots of humour … and some excellent special effects… A great success.
