Northern Ballet is delighted to announce the four budding choreographers to take part in the Company’s inaugural Choreographic Laboratory, Tell Tale Steps. Northern Ballet Premier Dancer and Choreographer Kenneth Tindall, former Royal Ballet First Artist Ludovic Ondiviela and Scottish Ballet dancer Constant Vigier have all been nominated by their companies.
1. Now considered a classic, Emily Brontë had to pay the substantial sum of 50 pounds to have Wuthering Heights published following constant rejection from publishers.  The book didn’t receive any acclaim in her lifetime and she died believing it to be a failure.

Artistic Director Laverne Meyer 1969 – 1976 Northern Dance Theatre was set up in 1969 by Canadian-born Laverne Meyer. Meyer was a dramatic dancer whose formative years were spent with Bristol-based Western Theatre Ballet, the first ever British dance company to be based outside London.
Northern Ballet – a brief history 1969 – 1976 Artistic Director: Laverne Meyer Canadian-born dramatic dancer, Laverne Meyer, sets up Northern Dance Theatre in 1969. The Company has 11 dancers and quickly gains a strong identity and loyal audience. The emphasis is on small-scale classical and modern works. The Company builds a strong identity and a loyal audience in the North.
