UK companies join together for MacMillan celebration

Northern Ballet is delighted to be performing on the Royal Opera House main stage for the first time after being invited to be a part of a shared programme Kenneth MacMillan: a National Celebration.

Organised by The Royal Ballet to celebrate the legacy of master choreographer Sir Kenneth MacMillan on the 25th anniversary of his death, Northern Ballet will join Scottish Ballet, The Royal Ballet, English National Ballet and Birmingham Royal Ballet in a tribute by the UK's major ballet companies.

With a varied programme of six performances spanning a two week period, Northern Ballet will perform Sir Kenneth MacMillan's Gloria on Thursday 26 and Friday 27 October. In addition, dancers from all five companies will appear together in Elite Syncopations on selected evenings.

Prior to participating in the programme at the Royal Opera House, we will also be performing our own triple bill of works by Sir Kenneth MacMillan. Sir Kenneth MacMillan, Master Choreographer features Gloria, Concerto and Las Hermanas and will be performed at Bradford Alhambra Theatre from 5 - 7 October 2017 before additional performances in Leeds in 2018.
