Get fit for the summer with a new ballet-inspired fitness class this June.
Former Northern Ballet Soloist Jessica Morgan will return to Northern Ballet HQ to run a four week adult course, ‘BarreFit – Get fit for the Summer’.
BarreFit is a ballet-inspired workout, combining dance technique with functional movements, choreographed to motivating music.
Jessica is from Newcastle, Australia and trained at the Marie Walton Mahon Dance Academy (now National College of Dance) and Elmhurst School for Dance. In 2006, she won a bronze medal at the Genée International Ballet Competition, before joining Northern Ballet in 2007 and leaving the Company in 2016.
Academy Associate Director, Yoko Ichino, says,
‘Jess has combined her experience as a professional ballet dancer along with her knowledge of the fitness industry to create a BarreFit class that will encourage strong and lean muscle, improve balance and co-ordination as well as flexibility.’
Classes will begin on Thursday 7 June and run for four weeks as a course, priced at £25 for the four classes. The class will be from 6.30 – 7.30pm.
