Amaury was born in France where he began his studies at the school of Ballet du Nord then completed his education at the School of American Ballet in New-York, where he was chosen by Jerome Robbins for a creation.
He has worked in various European companies as a soloist such as the Ballet du Rhin, the Deutsche Staatsoper in Berlin and the Ballet de l´Opéra de Nice. During this time performed the works of such choreographers as Maurice Béjart, Georges Balanchine, Nils Christe, Carolyn Carlson, Roland Petit, Hans van Manen, John Cranko, Jose Limon, Maryse Delente, and Myriam Naisy among many others.
In 2000, he joins the Compañía Nacional de Danza as a principal, dancing many works by director Nacho Duato as well as works by world known prestigious choreographers such as Jiri Kylian, Ohad Naharin, William Forsythe, Jacopo Godani, Örjan Andersson, Mats Ek and Wim Vandekeybus.
Since 2010, he is a teacher at the Superior Conservatory of Dance in Madrid (Spain), teaching contemporary and classical technique, repertory (Duato, Mats Ek, Naharin, Béjart), improvisation, choreographic composition, and workshops.
He is often called for workshops and master classes worldwide as well as jury member for international dance competitions.
He is a member of Nacho Duato's foundation to stage his work around the world.
Aside from his career as a teacher he has created many works of his own including award winning pieces. Amaury works for international companies such as Ballet de l´Opéra de Nice, Compañía Nacional de Danza, Centro Coreografico Gallego, Ballet de la generalitat, VM dance studio, Waapa, among others, as well as collaborations for Opera, Children's ballet programs, and more.
Among his latest pieces: El cant del cos (Ballet de la Generalitat), Don Carlo (Opera, teatros del Canal), A Soldier's Tale (ADC), Ewes (Compañía Nacional de Danza); each stand out for their critical acclaim and originality.
