Conner Jordan-Collins


Conner is from London and trained at the Young Dancers Academy and English National Ballet School. He joined Northern Ballet in September 2018 and left in 2019.

Where were you born and raised?

I was born and raised in London.

At what age did you start dancing?

I started dancing at the age of seven.

At the Young Dancers Academy in London and English National Ballet School.

Which Northern Ballet role would you most like to dance?

Oberon from A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Romeo from Romeo & Juliet.

Career/training highlights

Performing in The Nutcracker and The Sleeping Beauty with English National Ballet.

What do you like most about being a dancer?

I like being in an environment which is culturally diverse and artistically rich, and which provides a means of personal expression and development.

If you could adapt one work into a ballet what would it be?

Darkness by Lord Byron is a dark yet beautiful poem which would be a challenge to portray but I think it could make for an interesting piece.

What is your favourite book?

At the moment my favourite book is a religious satire called The Screwtape Letters by C.S Lewis.

How do you like to relax?

I like going to church and listening to music.

If you weren’t a dancer what would you be?

I’m interested in psychology so maybe a therapist.
