Dale Rhodes

Dale is from East Yorkshire and trained on the Academy of Northern Ballet's Centre for Advanced Training Programme, at English National Ballet School and at The Hamburg Ballet School. He danced with The Hamburg Ballet for four years before joining Northern Ballet in 2016.

Where were you born and raised?

I was born in Harrow, London and raised in North Ferriby, East Yorkshire.

At what age did you start dancing?

Age 4.

Where did you train?

I trained at the Northern Academy of Performing Arts in Hull, on the Centre for Advanced Training Programme at the Academy of Northern Ballet, at English National Ballet School and at The Hamburg Ballet School.

Which Northern Ballet role would you most like to perform?

Peter Pan would be fun - I'd like to fly.

Career/training highlights

Dancing in Stuttgart in the 50 year gala 'Spring & Fall'.

What do you like most about being a dancer?

Creating new works and training to reach my goals.

If you could adapt one work into a ballet what would it be?

Santa Sangre. It's an old surreal movie my Dad showed me with lots of drama.

What is your favourite post-show meal?

In Hamburg there was a nice Italian restaurant. I'm looking forward to finding my favourite in Leeds.

How do you like to relax?

Painting if I have time and if not then TV and video games.

An artist.
