My name is Ebony and I am the Dance Education Apprentice at Northern Ballet. I have been in my role for nearly a year now, and as the apprentice I have been observing, supporting and co-delivering workshops with the Dance Education Officers, which will help guide me towards my goal of becoming a dance teacher.

As a Dance Education Officer, I spend a lot of my time teaching dance workshops in schools, however this term I’ve been doing something a little different. Together with artists from Opera North, I’ve been going into Manor House Care Home in New Farnley every Friday afternoon to do some seated ballet and singing.

On Friday 21 October, Northern Ballet's Ability dancers performed along the golden carpet as part of the opening celebrations of the new Victoria Gate Shopping Centre in Leeds. They did brilliantly, especially as the performance was their first chance to run the piece in a long, narrow space.

My name is Ebony Godridge and I am the new Dance Education Apprentice at Northern Ballet. I recently graduated with a BA (Hons) Dance degree from Leeds Beckett University and I’m hoping I can bring the skills I have learnt from my degree to the Learning team, to help plan workshops and projects. My main role as apprentice will be to support and assist our Dance Education Officers in the many workshops and projects that they deliver.
