1. Our ballet is inspired by the 1806 Brothers Grimm story. The tale has been adapted many times, including a version by The Muppets featuring Kermit The Frog as the shoemaker, who’s saved by a group of entertainers (The Elvises) who, naturally, make only blue suede shoes.

Academy of Northern Ballet student Grace Whitaker, reviews our 45th Anniversary Sapphire Gala...

On the 14 of March, students from the Centre for Advanced Training programme levels 3-6 watched Northern Ballet’s 45th anniversary Sapphire Gala at Leeds Grand Theatre. The dress code was black tie so, as expected, we wore our finest dresses and suits for the occasion. Once we had found our seats and taken countless selfies, the performance was ready to start.
