China - The day is nearly upon us

Published on Friday 10 January, 2014

After nearly a year of planning, the tour to China is upon us. Tomorrow the Technicians set off followed by the rest of us on Sunday - 57 people in total plus a contingent from Leeds and Partners, Leeds City Council and sereval Leeds businesses. The planning for a tour of this scale is a major undertaking but we are now as well prepared as we can be. Over the next two weeks we will give 6 performances of A Midsummer Night's Dream in 3 cities - Xiamen (1), Guangzhou (2) and Beijing (3) plus 2 pop-up performances with a small group of dancers in Hangzhou.

As this is the 6th time we have toured China, the older dancers are bit laid back about it but the younger ones are certainly excited about the prospect of what is in store over the next 2 weeks!

Over the period I will keep you updated on the progress of the tour and try and share some of the highlights.
